Key Considerations for the Design and Selection of Fire-Fighting Booster and Stabilizing Equipment
1) The manufacturer of the pressure tank should hold a pressure vessel manufacturing license or registration certificate and have a sound quality management system and procedures.
2) Purchased components for the equipment must have product qualification certificates and pass on-site inspection before use. Components such as pressure tanks, water pump units, and electrical components must pass inspection before assembly and use. For equipment assembled on-site, the overall performance can be tested on-site.
3) A production license issued by the relevant authorities should be held.
4) The overall structure of the equipment, the layout of water pipes, gas pipes and electrical wiring should be reasonable, and sufficient space should be left for installation and maintenance to facilitate operation.
5) All purchased parts and materials used with the equipment should be products that comply with national standards (industry standards).
6) Structural requirements for water pump units:
a. The pressure stabilizing pump should be equipped with a backup pump, whose working capacity should be the same as that of the working pump.
b. Each pressure-stabilizing pump should be equipped with an independent suction pipe.
c. The water pump should use a self-priming method for water intake.
7) The water storage capacity of the pressure tank of the fire hydrant water supply system shall not be less than 300L; the water storage capacity of the pressure tank of the automatic sprinkler system shall not be less than 150L; and the water storage capacity of the pressure tank used for both fire hydrants and automatic sprinkler systems shall not be less than 450L.
8) Firefighting equipment shall be equipped with at least two main pumps and two auxiliary pumps (one for use and one for standby).
